Meeting halfway between the worlds of design and that of design theory, representatives of the Standa group have recently fine-tuned in product design what they practiced in other application fields. Furniture and objects are conceived by the design duo as an encounter between small everyday necessities and formal archetypes that often pertain to fields other than the strictly domestic, but which here find a new home. The solutions found recall a world of functional objects with intuitive aesthetics, which echoes in appearance (as well as in the programmatic name) a time when large-scale retail was aimed at provide services, but also to develop new scenarios and imagery for the home.
